Scheduled tests, or "assessments", are custom tests given to students by teachers and administrators who want the ability to write their own content or choose from templates. Uses of this might include:
A weekly home row assessment
A school song/slogan
A pop quiz.
To assign a scheduled test to your students, first select the Assessments tab from the left sidebar:
From here, select Scheduled Tests:
Scroll down to Add Test:
Now, you can fill out the details of your custom test:
Test name: This is the title of the test that will show up for your school.
Who is this for? This is how to decide who gets the test. * Note that only admins may have the feature to assign tests to the entire school. Settings below may change based on selection; you will select grades for a grade-level scope, students for a student-level scope, and classes for a classroom-level scope.
Time Limit: This is how long students have to type the passage.
Max retries: This is how many attempts students can use to pass the test before submitting.
Content to type: You can either write your own, or choose from a selection of premade tests.
Schedule: Pick a start date and an end date on the calendar. This will determine the dates that it will appear for your student. Note that you MUST have school hours set up, as these tests will only appear within your appointed school hours.
When you're finished, hit Save Test.
From a student perspective, they will see the test populate under their Base Camp dropdown:
By hitting Start, they can begin the test:
To check their results, go back to your Assessments tab. Select Scheduled Test. From here, scroll down to find the test you created:
You can select View results to view the scores. You can also select:
Eyeball: See who hasn't taken the test
Pencil: Edit the test
Paper: Copy the test and use it again
X: Delete the test.
From that View Results option, we see that we have a student who passed the test. Hooray!
