As a district administrator, you are responsible for loading your schools, classrooms, staff, and students into Typing Agent. The most efficient and error-proof way to get your school's data set up is to load them in this order:  schools, classrooms, then staff, then students.

Classrooms can be added in the following ways:

  • In bulk with a manual CSV file upload process

  • Through a third-party rostering system such as ClassLink, Clever or Google Classroom

  • By individual class upload

CSV
NOTE: CSV files needs to be saved as a UTF-8 encoded file.

There are two methods of uploading your schools using a CSV file. Sample CSV templates are available wherever the uploading of schools is permitted. They detail the information required to complete each column to have a successful upload.

Note: the program accepts letters, numbers, and the special characters _ (underscore), - (dash), and @ (at).

Method 1:

You can upload your classes via CSV file by navigating to Upload Your Classes from your Dashboard.

From here, you will be directed to upload your CSV file.

Method 2:

You can upload your classes using a CSV file by navigating to School Management from your Dashboard.

From here, click the Classrooms tab at the top of the page.

Now, select the green “+” button to upload your classes.

Select the option to Import Classes.

From here, you will be directed to upload your CSV file.

Add Classrooms Manually

Should you want to add your schools one by one manually, that option is there too. You can add your classes individually by navigating to School Management from your Dashboard.

From here, click the Classrooms tab at the top of the page.

Now, click the green “+” button at the bottom right-hand side of the page.

Now, select the option to Create Class.

Now, you can fill out the webform to add a single class into Typing Agent.

Here is a video walkthrough to explain the process:
