In the Keyboarding Foundations K-2 curriculum, after students have finished their Diagnostic Test, the very first lesson available to students is on how to use a mouse. We understand that in many cases, younger students may be working on devices that do not utilize mice. If this is the case, you may want to disable this activity. As a school administrator, you are able to eliminate this activity by grade, by classroom, or by the particular student.
Removing Mouse Lessons by Grade
First, hover over your Admin button and select School Management from your dashboard.
Then, select the Grade Settings tab.
Since the mouse lessons are only found in the K-2 program, select the K-2nd grade option.
Scroll all the way down and ensure that Enable Mouse Lessons (K-2 Only) is unchecked.
When you are finished, select Apply.
Removing Mouse Lessons by Classroom
To remove mouse lessons by classroom, first, select your class.
Then, select your Settings tab.
From here, select the Lesson Settings tab.
Now, scroll all the way down to the K2 Mouse Lessons drop down. Set it to Disabled.
When you’re finished, press Apply.
Removing Mouse Lessons by Student
To remove mouse lessons for a single student or group of students, first, select your class.
Then, select the checkbox(es) next to the name(s) of the student(s) for whom you’d like to disable the mouse lessons.
Now, select Accommodations from the window on the right.
Select the Settings tab.
Now, make sure Mouse Lesson (K2 Only) is unchecked.
When you’re finished, press Apply.
