Custom reports are those that you design to meet your needs; that is, you pick and choose what you want to see and the database pulls that data for you. Teachers and Administrators (Admins) have two such reports under this icon - the Student Custom Report and the Classroom Custom Report. Each report captures different information but they are similar in that you get to select the information you want to see; you are in the driver's seat with these. You don't have this capability in any other reports.

To get to the Custom Reports, click on a classroom on the left > Reports > then click Custom Reports icon that looks like this:

From here, you choose which of the reports you'd like to see - either the Custom Student Report or the Custom Classroom Report. Click on your choice:

How to get the information you need into these reports:

With both the Custom Student and Custom Classroom reports, you will need to select a parameter or data field from the column on the left then move it over into the column on the right using the arrow buttons. If you decide that you don't want that the criterion or criteria you had moved over, simply move it back into the left column using the left arrow. Let's now look at the parameters contained in each of the reports and what each means.

Custom Student Report:

This report details how well and how far students have worked in their Keyboarding Foundations curriculums. This makes your report granular to each specific student. The parameter selection looks like this where you move the information you want to receive from the left column to the right column using the arrows. Here are the data fields from which you may choose:

  • Username: The name student uses to log in.

  • First Name: The first name registered for that student.

  • Last Name: The last name registered for that student.

  • Last Login: The date that student last logged into the program.

  • Grade: The academic grade level the student is in for the year.

  • Password: The password the student uses to log in.

  • Class Name: The name of the classroom in which the student is enrolled.

  • Class Code: The class code of the classroom in which the student is enrolled.

  • Average Accuracy: The overall average number of keystrokes student hit correctly.

  • Average Words Per Minute (WPM): The cumulative average of how quickly the student typed.

  • Average Lessons: The average number of lessons the student completed.

  • Average Time Spent: The average amount of time the student spent actively typing when logged into the program.

  • Total Time: The aggregate amount of time the student spent typing.

  • Class WPM: The classroom’s average WPM for comparison purposes.

  • Experience Points: The number of Experience Points the student has earned. (Click for more information about Experience Points.)

  • Grade Earned: Evaluation mark the student earned based on your grading system; for example letter grades, percentage, emoticons, pass/fail, etc.)

  • K2 Highest Mountain Finished: The name of the highest mountain the student has finished in the Keyboarding Foundations K2 curriculum.

  • K2 Highest Lesson Name: The name of the highest lesson the student has finished in the Keyboarding Foundations K2 curriculum.

  • 3+ Highest World Finished: The name of the highest world the student has finished in the Keyboarding Foundations 3+ curriculum.

  • 3+ Highest Lesson Name: The name of the highest lesson the student has finished in the Keyboarding Foundations 3+ curriculum.

  • K2 Flags Done/Total: The number of flags the student has completed out of the 106 flags available in the K2 curriculum. (106 does not include the practice lessons students must complete under the flags. These are the graded lessons only.)

  • 3+ Lessons Done/Total: The number of lessons that the student has completed out of the 283 lessons in the Keyboarding Foundations 3+ curriculum. (283 does not include the practice lessons students have under the Worlds. These are the graded lessons only.)

Remember, click on the data field you want to have in your report in the left column then click the right-facing arrow to move it over to the right:

Should you want to capture all of the data fields for your report in on go, simply click the top criterion, hold down your Shift key then drag your cursor down to include the others. Once what you want are highlighted, click that arrow pointing right to move them into the right-hand column.

But it doesn't end there. If you'd like to adjust the order you'd like to see them online or in your printed report, in that right column, drag and drop each parameter up and down in your preferred order. The information at the top will be the first thing that you see in the report.

Custom Classroom Report:

A Custom Classroom Report gives you a general overview of the classroom and then provides an idea of what is going on with their statistics and progress. Here are the data fields you get in this report:

  • Class Name: The name of the classroom.

  • Class Code: The code given to this classroom.

  • Number of Students in the Classroom: The number of students enrolled in the classroom currently.

  • Class Code Active: If students are permitted to self-register, a checkmark appears but if they cannot, an x is there.

  • Active Student Average: The average number of times students in this classroom have logged into the program.

  • Average Lessons: The average number of lessons completed by students in the classroom.

  • Average WPM: The average WPM attained by students in the classroom.

Select a criterion from the left column then move it over to the right using the arrow pointing right to get that information into your report:

If you'd like to adjust the order, you can drag and drop each parameter to your preferred order once they're in the right hand column. This will be the order in which you get your report results online and in the printed version.

When you're happy with what you've selected, click Run Report. .

It may take a few moments and while the report is gathering, you'll see a gear turning near the top right of your screen. Once the report is finished, you can scroll down and see the results. This report can be printed using the printer icon at the top right of the report itself.
