You are able to assign lessons to your students and notify them of any classwork you expect to be done by a certain date. This is especially handy if you have students working remotely or you are trying to keep everyone on the same page for a cohesive learning experience.

Two things to be aware of when using Assigned Due Dates:

1. Students are not taken directly to the lessons when they click on your assignment. Instead, they view your assigned lessons then find them in their keyboarding curriculum; and

2. Students cannot skip lessons to do your assigned ones; They will be able to access your assigned lessons only IF they are at that point in their keyboarding lessons. For example, if you've assigned activities in World 2, Lesson 2 (3+ curriculum) or Mountain 1, Flag 10 (K-2 curriculum) and so far, students have only progressed to World 1, Lesson 10 or Mountain 1, Flag 7, they will not be able to do your assigned lessons yet. Students will need to learn the prerequisite, earlier keystrokes they will need to do your assignment properly. As soon as they've worked up to what you've set, they will be able to do those lessons.

To assign due dates to lessons, click on a Classroom that is made on the left of your screen. (The name of the classroom in our screenshot says "Test Class" but yours will have the name of your classroom(s).)

From here, select Settings from the navigation bar.

Then, select Curriculum.

Once here, select the black folder icon within the panel of the curriculum you’d like to assign a due date to.

This will open up all of the lessons included in the selected curriculum. Now, you can select the calendar icon above the lesson you’d like them to complete.

From here, you’ll be able to set a due date. Select your date by clicking inside the calendar.

Now, you’ll see the date for this lesson has been set.

If you’d like to check to see the date you’ve set, you can navigate to Curriculum from your Dashboard.

From here, select the calendar icon.

Now, you can view which lessons you have assigned and for which date.

Students can view their assigned lessons by clicking on the calendar icon at the top of their dashboard.  Note that they will not be able to click on these lessons and go to them - the list of assignments will serve as a reminder for them to go in to their own curriculum to complete the work mentioned.
