Type Your Own Adventure is a fun, optional curriculum that focuses on accuracy, and teaches concepts of digital citizenship in a whimsical, choose-your-own-adventure storyline. (NB: This curriculum is geared for strong readers who must read then type how the story progresses. The voice over feature will not work for this curriculum.) If this curriculum is enabled, students can access it. They simply click the rocket icon on their "Phone Home" icon which if found at the bottom right of their page.


In Type Your Own Adventure, students will meet Ty and Keyana, two students who are the protagonists of the story. They will read a short excerpt of what's going on, then type what they'd like to happen to make the story move forward.

This main focus of this curriculum is on accuracy to ensure students type the option they want with the fewest errors. Because there are different endings to this story, students can do this activity numerous times and make different choices to see the various ways the story can end.

How To Enable Type Your Own Adventure For A Student or Group of Students

First, select your classroom.


Then, click your Students tab.


Select the check box under the word Roster to activate all students or if you only want one student to access this curriculum, click the check box next to the student's name to trigger the fly-out menu. From here, select Curriculum.


Now, scroll down to Type Your Own Adventure.


You can set the number of Experience Points required for students to unlock this Type Your Own Adventure curriculum to 5000 Experience Points and wait for them to unlock it or simply enable it right away for them by entering 0 and selecting Update.

How to Enable Type Your Own Adventure To A Whole Class



First, select your Class.

Then, select the Settings tab.

From here, select the Curriculum tab.

Now, scroll down to Type Your Own Adventure.


You can set the number of Experience Points required for students to unlock this Type Your Own Adventure curriculum to 5000 Experience Points and wait for them to unlock it or simply enable it right away for them by entering 0 and selecting Assign All.
